What we do
The Rural Financial Counselling Service (RFCS) has been supporting farmers and rural-related businesses for more than 30 years. RBS delivers the RFCS in South Australia and Northern Territory and is one of 10 service providers supported by the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) nationally. Our services are free, independent and confidential for eligible clients.
The Rural Financial Counselling program provides free and independent financial counselling to eligible farmers, fishers, foresters and small related enterprises who are experiencing, or at risk of, financial hardship including those impacted by the South Australian River Murray Flood event of 2022.
Our qualified business financial counsellors can talk with you to:
-
- understand your financial position
- navigate financial issues
- develop plans to manage cash flow and creditor payments
- access dispute resolution services
- consider succession pathways
- seek broader professional advice and support
- access government and community grants, programs or schemes
Our support officers are knowledgeable about the process and documentation required for applications for the Farm Household Allowance, Regional Investment Corporation Loans and PIRSA funding and support. Please speak to us if you need guidance in preparing your application.
We can work with clients for up to three years. Our vision is to work towards a profitable, sustainable and resilient rural business sector.
Business Health Check
Our business financial counsellors can work with eligible primary producers, foresters and fishers to gain a better understanding of their financial position and to help them build their financial literacy.
